fun pop-punk from flint. best dudes. check it out if you haven’t already.
here’s part of a review i found courtesy of mispymag.com
“The angry knot in Jordan Berry’s vocal and the hit of his pick to a chord on a guitar are teeth clenching, and yet become etiquette to the ears. The opening track is almost expected with an open word intro, but becomes gravitating and is irresistible from cutting it off so quickly. But as the album goes on, George Orwell visits a variety of sound from pirate punk to gypsy punk – what’s the difference? It’s all rather good.
Most local bands have a hard time distinguishing their own sound from any other band that is in the scene. Luckily, Shooting an Elephant uses a great deal of struggled tension between raspy lyrics that are almost screamed, and catchy guitar riffs. After seeing these guys play as many times as I have, you can see the influences of classic punk in this outfit.”
